Award in e-Health Hackathon for C4AI student team

A team of students from the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science and the Center for Artificial Intelligence at UAM received an honorable mention at the e-Health Hackathon, organized by Roche Poland, Janssen Poland, in cooperation with the Federation of Polish Entrepreneurs under the auspices of the Warsaw Health Innovation Hub.

In early October, the team, consisting of Mikołaj Pokrywka, Mateusz Tylka, Karol Idaszak and Tomasz Grzybowski, received an award and an invitation to present their solution before experts from the public sector, including the Medical Research Agency and the Ministry of Health. Mikolaj, Matusz, Karol and Tomasz are all studying for their Master's degrees in Computer Science and participating in the Academy of Innovative Applications of Digital Technologies (AI Tech) project, which is being implemented as part of a consortium of five leading Polish universities providing education in computer science.

The DREAM team has proposed a universal solution, in line with Poland's health care informatization policy, to improve the queue management process in medical facilities while collecting health data. The data collected in this way can be used to develop an initial diagnosis of the patient simplifying his admission to the doctor's office. The authors of the idea also developed a model for diagnosing a patient's health condition.

The event's guest of honor was also the Minister of Health, Adam Niedzielski, whose ministry accepted Honorary Patronage of the hackathon.
