Computational Psychiatry Team

Mental disorders reflect dysfunctions of the brain—the most complex organ of the human body, operating in an equally intricate environment. The interactions between genetic, molecular, cellular, and socio-psychological factors are multidimensional and dynamic. Therefore, translating advances in neuroscience into real benefits for patients remains a significant challenge.

Computational psychiatry is a rapidly developing field at the intersection of psychiatry, neurobiology, and computer science. It utilizes mathematical analysis and modeling techniques to objectify the description of mental states, enhance the understanding of the complex etiopathogenesis of mental disorders, and optimize treatment strategies.

Methods such as machine learning, big data processing, and computer simulations enable the identification of biomarkers for specific disorders, comprehensive risk assessment, the design of therapeutic interventions, and the prediction of their outcomes. They also allow for precise monitoring of treatment progress. Computational psychiatry thus offers entirely new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities, aligning with the trend of precision and personalized medicine.

Our interdisciplinary team focuses on developing and refining these innovative methods, integrating them into everyday psychiatric practice. We conduct our work in accordance with evidence-based medicine principles while maintaining a holistic approach to patient care.
