Conversational systems team

The team conducts research in the field of conversational artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on spoken dialogue systems.
The results of our research are presented at leading speech and natural language processing conferences.
We collaborate with Samsung Electronics, one of the world's leading manufacturers of conversational systems.
Together with Samsung engineers, we have developed methods for evaluating the robustness of natural language understanding systems to speech recognition errors [1] [2], compression schemes for part-of-speech models for text-to-speech systems [3], and techniques for correcting speech recognition errors [4] [5].

Team leader

PhD

Marek Kubis

Dr Kubis is conducting research on conversational systems and discourse modeling techniques. His interests include methods of geometric deep learning applied to natural language processing, techniques for text data augmentation, and methods for evaluating the robustness of large language models.

Team members

PhD

Paweł Skórzewski

Dr Skórzewski's research interests has involved automatic linguistic analysis of texts from syntactic, diachronic, emotional and semantic points of view, as well as the construction of dialogue systems. He is currently researching methods for evaluating language models.

M.Sc.

Iwona Christop

Iwona Christop is involved in automatic speech recognition, with a special focus on emotionally charged speech. She is the author of the nEMO dataset, a simulated set of emotional speech in Polish.
